Compile Your Restaurant Opening Checklist

If you are thinking about branching out into the world of food service and getting ready to set up your first establishment, you need to compile a restaurant opening checklist to make sure that you do not miss anything during these vital stages. Extra preparation now will really pay off when you open the doors, as when the pressure is on you do not want to be thinking about fundamentals, but rather focusing on daily operations.

Once you have decided your location and theme, high on your restaurant opening checklist should be an analysis of your menu compilation. Not only will recipes allow you to calculate the real cost of the food that you need, but it will also determine the exact specification of your kitchen equipment and gear. Make sure that you have been comprehensive at this stage, as you will not want to buy or lease gear and find that you have misinterpreted and have to refit.

To operate efficiently any business must be orientated and laid out correctly. Your floor plan should be designed on paper to ensure that you have the most efficient flow of traffic to maximize potential revenues. Make sure that you have the maximum number of tables, but that they are laid out so that guests may come and go without any feeling of constraint and so that the staff may do their work efficiently.

You need to compose a comprehensive and sensible business plan and attach it to your restaurant opening checklist. Once you have your floor plan, menu, equipment and layout settled, your stakeholders will be very interested in your plans. Always be sensible and realistic when presenting to your investors, financiers or other stakeholders.

Whatever business you choose to operate, you will find that cash flow is a very important element. Some people do not realize that it may take up to a year before you see a positive cash flow and will come under close scrutiny throughout this time. Therefore your restaurant opening checklist must incorporate a sensible and workable financing plan as a priority.

As you want to make sure that you do not open yourself to particularly bad publicity, you must be sure that you are in compliance with a variety of county, local and state code regulations. Attach these, together with all your professional licenses to your restaurant opening checklist and make sure that they are comprehensive and inclusive before you start.

In a restaurant, you need to avoid downtime as much as possible as this can be very problematic as you can imagine. Therefore, when you are ready to open, make sure that you have surrounded yourself with as many advisers and professional contractors as you can. These need to be solid and reliable and people who you can tune to at short notice. Your restaurant checklist should have names and direct phone numbers at the top.

Sometimes the restaurant opening checklist is the most confusing element of this operation. If you find that you need advice, especially if this relates to publicity and marketing, you should seek out one of the qualified and skilled online consultants to help you put this all together.

Simple Steps to Host an Amazing Outdoor Movie Night for Your Community, While on a Small Budget

Outdoor Movie events in Australia have become increasingly popular over the past 5 years but most of them have been run by big event companies who can afford to spend big dollars. This has meant for small local communities hosting an outdoor movie event is just not possible due to the cost. This is no longer the case with a select few outdoor event companies who are now specialising in small, medium and large community outdoor movie nights.

Smaller scale cinema nights can cost less than $1000 through a small number of outdoor event hire companies which ensures even community groups or schools with a limited budget can host a film night on their local field.

The vast majority of community groups who have hosted a movie night over the past 2 -3 years have been so impressed with how successful the event went and the funds they were able to raise that they have continued to organise the same event year on year with the only difference being the film shown.

Searching the web for an event company to assist you with your outdoor movie night is your initial step. Though there are only a small number of companies that offer this service they seem to have already developed a large percentage of the market as almost all groups that are using them have booked another event with the same company for the following year.

Someone who has never hosted or organised an outdoor movie event might be thinking " I have no clue what equipment I need for such an event." This is what you will need: 1. huge inflatable screen and 2. AV equipment. That is basically it apart from a few other small bits of equipment. This will be supplied by your outdoor event hire company who if you ask should also give you advice on fundraising, what movie to play, and what has worked well in the past.

Once you have decided that you would like to host an Outdoor Movie night you need to make a booking. Below are some simple steps to consider:

1. Where will the movie night be located

2. The area picked must be large enough for both equipment and your crowd.

3. Get signed permission to use the area

4. Look into outdoor events company that specialises in Outdoor Movies and talk with them

5. Decided upon a film to be played

6. Publicize the event

All the technical issues like; what size screen, strength of the projector, how loud should the audio system be and all safety requirements will be sorted out by the outdoor events company you hire.

Finally, the last question people are always concerned about " what if it rains? This can be an issue but if you run your event in the dryer months (Sept - May) then the chances of being rained out are much slimmer. Secondly you may also want to consider having an indoor alternative just incase the flood gates open and threaten to ruin all your tireless planning. If all else fails the majority of event companies will let you reschedule your event as long as you call off the night by 10am on the day.

Used Car Buying: What Not To Do!

Mostly, if you want a better return on your investment and value for your money when you are thinking of buying a car, then go for a used model rather than a new one. On the other hand, buying a used car carries more risks than buying a new one. Identifying the major pitfalls that you may face when you buy a new car and avoiding them can lead you to a purchase that you will always be happy and satisfied with.

Not doing a number of things can often help you in saving money and getting a lemon free deal when you buy your used car.

Some of the main things that you need to avoid in order to get a good used car buying deal are:

Middlemen and Agents: With the internet turning the whole world into a giant marketplace, you can easily do away with crafty used car dealers and instead search for car sales by owners on a reputable used cars for sale website. Since the owner in most cases is going to be a novice just like you at trading cars, you will be able to avoid high prices, misleading jargon and other regular tricks of the trade when you buy your used car directly from the owner.

Buying A Car Without Proper Research: When you buy a used car online, often you will be able to buy the vehicle at unthinkable prices, as compared to the brick and mortar shops. Though, the disadvantage of this is that you may not be able to test-drive the car if the owner lives far from your place, before you buy it. Whether you buy online or not, make sure that you do not end up with a lemon just because you did not do your research well. It is vital to research and it involves inspecting the features and the shortcomings of the model you are planning to buy. You should also know the estimated price of the car based on mileage, model year, accessories and features from used car authorities such as Edmunds, NADA or Kelleys. Get a Vehicle History Report to check if the car has been in any major accidents.

Not Test Driving Prior To Purchasing: It is a fact that sometimes, when the deal is good but far away, you may have to buy the car without first testing it. But, you can always go down to the local car dealer and test drive the model that you are planning to purchase in order to see if it is suitable for you or not. It is best to only consider localities where it is possible for you to go personally and check out the car before you buy, which you have found on the online auto search.

Saving Time With Plastic Injection Molding

For decades, many hundreds of thousands of companies rely on manufacturing technology to help them produce, en masse, all the pieces and parts that go in to the manufacture of their product. Many millions of these parts are created through a process known as plastic injection molding.

Now that we know what plastic injection molding is, there are steps you can take to determine if making the investment in the machinery is right for you and your company. In order to do this, you must ask yourself some serious questions.

This is beneficial if there is an order for, say, 500,000 beige infant doll hands. Because the process of plastic injection molding involves forcing hot, melted plastic in to a metal mold, coloring agents can be added to the plastic pre-production in order to create the desired color palette for the product, in this case, beige.

Too, if the product you are making needs to be a specific color, the ability to add dye to the melted plastic is quite beneficial. This ensures invariant color blends throughout the product, thus meeting all required specifications.

Overall, the process of plastic injection molding goes through 6 phases from beginning to end. First the molds are clamped in to place for production, then the plastic pellets are loaded in to the top of the machine so they may be melted in a super-heated condition -- this is where any dye may be added to the process, once the plastic has been melted it is then injected in to the molds.

Keep in mind though, the initial investment in plastic injection molding machinery can be costly considering you must have the product molds made for each product you intend to produce -- these are not cheap, but if you are currently using outdated technology to produce your plastic products, then the investment is well worth considering once you realize the true cost-benefit potential.
